2016-17 Season – Has competed as an individual in both events this fall … Finished in top 50 in each event.
Junior Golf/High School – Four-year letter winner in golf at Blackman High School for coach Barry Wortman … State tournament participant all four years, finished in the top 10 in the state championship three years in a row … Named All District all four years, all region as a junior and senior and was named the Bojangles Athlete of the Week … Owns the school’s top two scoring marks, with rounds of 64 and 65, and was the team MVP all four years … In 2014, Owens won the prestigious Future Masters in Dothan, Ala., with scores of 66-69-69 … He qualified for and advanced to match play at the 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur, where he defeated the No. 1 ranked junior in the world in the first round … He was medalist at the 2014 Tennessee PGA Junior qualifier (68-67) and advanced to the National PGA Junior … He finished second in the Tennessee Junior State Amateur and fifth in the Tennessee State Amateur, as well as posting several top 10 finishes in other national events … Following the summer of 2014 he was ranked the #1 player in the 2016 Class for Tennessee and fourth overall in the state.
