BLACKSBURG - The 14th-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling team will kick off the 2011-12 campaign this weekend at the Salem Civic Center, taking on Campbell University on Saturday in a dual match and then hosting the Hokie Open all day Sunday.

The Hokies and Camels will kick off the weekend’s festivities with a dual match at 5 p.m. The Hokies are ranked 14th in the first NWCA/USA Today Coaches’ Poll and will send four ranked wrestlers to the mat. Campbell wrestles two matches at the University of Virginia on Saturday morning before driving over to Salem for the match against the Hokies.

Tech head coach Kevin Dresser will be hosting a free clinic at 2 p.m. for high school and youth wrestlers prior to the dual meet at the Salem Civic Center. Tickets for this dual match are $10 for adults, $5 for students. Live stats for this match can be found here.

On Sunday, the program will host the fourth Hokie Open at the Civic Center. Some top teams and idividuals from around the region will take to the mats in an early season tournament. Tickets for that event are $15 for adults, $5 for students and can be bought at Ticketmaster.com. For updated brackets throughout the day, go to the tournament web site at http://hokieopen.com/
