GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the members of the 2015 ACC Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Teams today, and nine Virginia Tech student-athletes made the squad.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career.
Seven members of the Tech men’s track and field team made the squad, while two members of the women’s team earned a spot. The Tech members on the men’s team included senior Darren Barlow (mechanical engineering), junior Marek Barta (business information technology), senior Thomas Curtin (sociology), sophomore Neil Gourley (mechanical engineering), sophomore Daniel Jaskowak (human nutrition, food and exercise), senior Chris Uhle (human nutrition, food and exercise) and graduate Manuel Ziegler (industrial and systems engineering).
The Tech women’s track and field members on the All-ACC Academic Team included sophomore Hanna Green (interior design) and senior Sabine Kopplin (marketing).
Florida State’s Colleen Quigley wan named the Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while NC State’s Jonathan Addison received the same honor on the men’s side.
