Seven H2Okies named to All-ACC Academic Team
Senior Gruber earns academic honor for fourth time, junior Schiesl picks up third

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech swimming and diving program has seven representatives on the 2018 All-ACC Academic Team as announced Thursday by the conference office.
Seniors Maggie Gruber and Adriana Grabski, junior Ashlynn Peters and freshman Joelle Vereb claimed honors on the women’s side while seniors Harrison Pierce and Ian Ho along with junior Ben Schiesl were named to the men’s team. This marks Gruber’s fourth time on the academic team while Schiesl takes home his third nod. This is the second time on the team for both Peters and Ho.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
