Sam Rogers To Represent Hokies in Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. – The Reese’s Senior Bowl announced its first 12 players who have accepted invitations to its 2017 game, including Virginia Tech senior RB Sam Rogers. The Mechanicsville, Va., native will be become the 49th Tech player to participate in the annual all-star event. Dadi Nicolas was part of the South roster last year.

The former walk-on has played in 49 games (21 starts) for the Hokies. One of the most versatile and valuable performers on the squad, he owns 140 carries for 547 yards with two touchdowns along with 61 receptions for 693 yards and six scores during his career. He has also completed three of four passes, including a 13-yard TD pass to Steven Peoples earlier this season against Miami. The Hanover High School product also registered a career-high 72 receiving yards in that contest against the Hurricanes.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. ET in Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.
