No. 10 Hokies travel to Edinboro and Pitt this weekend

BLACKSBURG - No. 10 Virginia Tech hits the road again this weekend to take on Edinboro at 7 p.m. on Friday and Pitt at 2 p.m. in its ACC opener on Sunday. Fans will be able to stream both duals as FloWrestling will have Friday’s coverage and ACC Network EXTRA will broadcast Sunday’s match.

The Hokies (8-2) are coming off of a second place finish at the 38th Annual Virginia Duals in Hampton, Virginia last weekend. It was Tech’s fifth top two finish at the tournament over the past six years. Redshirt junior Zack Zavatsky picked up four bonus point wins and redshirt sophomore David McFadden went 4-0 with a major decision over No. 15 Anthony Valencia of Arizona State at the Duals.

After the 21-15 loss to Arizona State in the finals, the Hokies and Sun Devils flipped spots in the NWCA Coaches Poll with Tech checking in this week at No. 10.

Sunday marks the ACC opener for both Pitt and Virginia Tech. The Hokies suffered their last conference defeat to the Panthers on Feb. 7, 2014. Since that 19-14 loss at Pitt, Tech has rattled off 15 consecutive ACC dual meet wins over the past three seasons.
