Tech wrestlers set to compete at Edinboro Open
Gustafson, McFadden highlight the Hokie grapplers taking the mat this weekend

BLACKSBURG – The No. 5 Virginia Tech wrestling team will be sending 16 wrestlers to compete in the Edinboro Open on Saturday, Feb. 4. Action begins at 9 a.m. and FloWrestling will be providing live stats and a live stream.
Sophomore Cody Hughes is coming off a tremendous performance last week at the Appalachian State Open where he went 4-0 and took home the 174-pound title. Freshman Dominic Latona, sophomore David McFadden and freshman Andrew Dunn placed second in their weight classes.
Wrestling attached at 133 this weekend is redshirt junior Dennis Gustafson, who’s ranked No. 26 in his weight class in the latest wrestling coaches panel rankings. He’s 15-3 on the season and has already won an open tournament title at 133 this season at the Franklin and Marshall Open.
The Hokies return to dual meet action on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum when they face No. 8 NC State for the 2017 ACC Dual Meet Championship.
