Tech looks to rebound on the road this weekend
Non-starters will head to Shorty Hitchcock Memorial

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech wrestling team will look to rebound from a tough ACC loss to Maryland in a pair of road matches this weekend at Iowa State and NC State. Tech, ranked 17th in the country, will take on the Cyclones Friday night in Ames before taking on the Wolfpack Sunday in Raleigh.

The Hokies will send three ranked wrestlers to the mat this weekend, including newly annointed No.1 Devin Carter at 133 pounds. Pete Yates remained seventh at 165 pounds and will have a tough bout on Friday as he’s scheduled to take on No. 5 Andrew Sorenson. Zach Neibert remained 11th at 141 pounds and will take on 18th-ranked Darius Little Sunday. Neither of Carter’s scheduled opponents are ranked. Iowa State also has a ranked wrestler at 125, 184 and 285 pounds. Little is NCSU's only ranked grappler.
