Tech lands 14 USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors
Hokies place five men and nine women on academic list

NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Friday that the Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track teams garnered 14 student-athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Academic, as announced by the organization.
The following Virginia Tech student-athletes were honored:

Women’s (9)
Emma Thor Freshman
Erica Hjerpe Senior
Kayla Richardson Freshman

Katie Kennedy Junior
On the men’s side, 516 student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors and a total of 752 student-athletes were honored on the women’s side.
In order to be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree, a student-athlete must compete at the respective national championship meet or be in the top-96 nationally in an individual event and have at least a 3.25 cumulative team GPA.
On Thursday, it was announced that the men’s track and field team for Tech earned a 3.13 GPA, while the women’s side tallied a 3.17 GPA, as both squads earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
