Taylor leads Bills over Dolphins, gives fan early gift

Bills 24, Dolphins 16
QB Tyrod Taylor, TE Logan Thomas and the Buffalo Bills defeated their AFC East rival Miami Dolphins. Taylor finished the day 17 of 29 for 224 yards and one touchdown. He also carried the ball six times for 42 yards a rushing touchdown. TE Logan Thomas did not record any stats on the day. The Bills (8-6) would be sixth seed in the AFC playoffs started today. The Bills are at New England on Sunday.

Following a second-quarter TD run by Taylor, he personally delivered an early holiday gift to 14-year-old Alea Williams of Oakfield, New York. Already a devout fan of the former Hokies quarterback, Taylor firmly cemented his status as her favorite Bills’ player with a simple act of kindness.

Redskins 20, Cardinals 15
CB Kendall Fuller, DeAngelo Hall and the Washington Redskins (6-8) defeated head coach Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals (6-8). Fuller finished the day with eight tackles and two passes defended both of which came on Arizona’s final drive, including one of which sealed the game late against Larry Fitzgerald. Hall did not record any stats on the day.

Ravens 27, Browns 10
S Chuck Clark and the Baltimore Ravens defeated their AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns. Clark tallied one tackle in the win. At 8-6, the Ravens are still in the AFC Wild Card picture along with a number of other clubs with two games remaining in the regular season.

Saints 31, Jets 19
RB Trey Edmunds and the No. 1 offense of the New Orleans Saints defeated the N.Y. Jets. Edmunds did not record any stats, but did play on special teams. The Saints are currently the fourth seed in the NFC playoff picture, leading the NFC South with a 10-4 record.

Tech Alum Nick Rapone serves as the defensive backs coach for the Cardinals’ staff, while former Hokie Torrian Gray serves as the Redskins’ secondary coach.

49ers 25, Titans 23
S Antone Exum, Jr. and the San Francisco 49ers (4-10) defeated the Tennessee Titans (8-6). With the win, the 49ers are now on a three-game win streak. Antone Exum, Jr. did not record any stats on the day for the 49ers.

Lions 20, Bears 10
CB Kyle Fuller and the Chicago Bears fell to NFC North rival Detroit Lions (8-6). Fuller has continued his breakout season with recording two tackles, placing him third on the team in total tackles with 66.

Rams 42, Seahawks 7
T Duane Brown and the Seattle Seahawks (8-6) fell to NFC West rival L.A. Rams (10-4). The Rams are the current third seed, while the Seahawks are the eighth seed and are still in the NFC Wild Card race. Former Hokies’ S Nick Sorenson serves as the secondary coach for the Seahawks.

S Kam Chancellor will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a neck injury in Week 10. FB Sam Rogers is a member of the Ram’s practice squad

Chiefs 30, Chargers 13
The Kansas City Chiefs (8-6) and their No.5 offense defeated their AFC West rival L.A. Chargers (7-7). The Chiefs sit atop their division and the hold the current fourth seed in the playoff picture. LB Dadi Nicolas is on the PUP list for the Chiefs after suffering a ruptured patella tendon in Week 17 of the 2016 season

Panthers 31, Packers 24
The Green Bay Packers fell to the No. 5 defense of the Carolina Panthers. With the loss, and the Falcons win against the Buccaneers, the Packers have been eliminated from the playoffs. QB Jerod Evans is a member of the Packers’ practice squad.

Eagles 34, Giants 29
The No.3 offense of the Philadelphia Eagles (12-2) survived the N.Y. Giants (2-12). With the win, the Eagles clinched their division. Tech alums Eugene Chung and Keith Gray are both on the Eagles’ staff. T Nick Becton is a member of the Giants’ practice squad.

Jaguars 45, Texans 7
The Houston Texans fell to their AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars. TE Ryan Malleck is a member of the Texans’ practice squad.
