Tonight marks the final preseason game for NFL clubs before teams must cut down to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. However, there’s a chance that players released could come back to the practice squad. Each NFL team can establish a 10-man practice squad on Sunday.
Here’s a look at tonight’s contest where there will be Hokies in action. All times Eastern.
L.A. Rams at Green Bay – 7 p.m.
RB Sam Rogers visits Lambeau Field with the Rams. How great is that?
Detroit at Buffalo – 7 p.m.
QB Tyrod Taylor is not expected to play after being placed into concussion protocol after last Saturday’s game. Buffalo QB T.J. Yates is also in concussion protocol meaning rookie QB Nathan Peterman from Pitt could see plenty of action. DT Nigel Williams and TE Logan Thomas are both anticipated to play. T Nick Becton is in his third NFL campaign and is wearing No. 67 for the Lions.
Washington at Tampa Bay – 7:30 p.m.
CB Kendall Fuller and T Vinston Painter will suit up for the Redskins as they visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tech alum Torrian Gray is on the Redskins’ staff as secondary coach. Don’t be surprised if you see Fuller, Painter, Gray and DeAngelo Hall show up on Tech’s sidelines on Sunday night at FedExField when the Hokies open the season against West Virginia.
Baltimore at New Orleans – 8 p.m.
Chuck Clark and Ryan Malleck will suit up for the Ravens. Clark was recently mentioned by Baltimore assistant GM Eric Decosta as one of the rookies who’s had an impressive camp.
Darryl Tapp is entering his 11th NFL season and his second campaign with the Saints. Rookie RB Trey Edmunds has posted 13 carries for 39 yards in the preseason. WR Corey Fuller is a Baltimore native and attended Woodlawn High School. He’s in his initial campaign with New Orleans after entering the league as a sixth-round pick of Detroit in 2013.

Miami at Minnesota – 8 p.m.
Antone Exum, Jr. and Bucky Hodges will take the field for the Minnesota Vikings. Exum registered an INT last week.
Cleveland at Chicago – 8 p.m.
Kyle Fuller and the Chicago Bears will host the Browns at Soldier Field.
Arizona at Denver – 9 p.m.
A pair of Tech’s 2016 senior class could square off against one another as the Cardinals visit Denver. Arizona T Jon McLaughlin and Denver DE/LB Ken Ekanem were both key members of last year’s VT squad that finished the season at 10-4. Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is a former Tech quarterback, while Tech alum Nick Rapone serves as the defensive backs coach for Arizona.
Seattle at Oakland – 9 p.m.
Kam Chancellor and the Seattle Seahawks will travel to the Black Hole and face the Oakland Raiders. Former Hokies’ S Nick Sorensen serves as secondary coach for the Seahawks.
