BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech football program will host its third annual Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 14, at Lane Stadium.

The 2016 Fan Appreciation Day starts at 11:15 a.m. for Hokie Kids’ Club members and 11:30 a.m. for the general public. The event is free of charge and open to people of all ages. Parking is also free, which includes Lots 1 (Cassell Coliseum), 2 (Lane Stadium South End zone) and 5 (Chicken Hill).

Hokie Kids’ Club members will enter the stadium through the southeast tunnel between Gates 1 and 2, while the general public will enter through the southwest tunnel between Gates 2 and 3 (please click above for a Fan Appreciation Day map).

Fans will be allowed to get autographs from all of their favorite players and coaches. All players will be in attendance and grouped at stations according to positions. Head coach Justin Fuente, associate head coach, defensive coordinator Bud Foster and assistant head coach Galen Scott along with the entire coaching staff will also be available to sign autographs at a specific coaching station.

Fans can bring in outside items to be signed, but autograph seekers may only have one item signed at each station. Posters will be provided free of charge to those who wish to get one signed.

No posed photography will be allowed. This restriction allows fans to move through the lines as quickly as possible.

The Tech Athletics Ticket Office will be on site for fans wishing to buy season tickets or club seating. Concession stands and the University Bookstore will be on site as well and open at 10 a.m. outside of Gate 2. An additional bookstore and concession stand will be set up on the field during the event.

Fan Appreciation Day will end promptly at 12:45 p.m. The autograph lines will close at approximately 12:30 p.m. If it rains, the event will be moved onto the concourse level of Lane Stadium.

The Tech football team opens the 2016 season in Lane Stadium on Saturday, September 3 at 12:30 p.m. against Liberty.
