BLACKSBURG – All Virginia Tech alumni and fans are invited to the Outback Steakhouse Welcome Back Football Picnic on Sunday, Aug. 14 in the south end zone of Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech.

The Blacksburg Hokie Club is the host of the event and Outback Steakhouse provides the food. There will be steak, chicken, macaroni & cheese, grilled asparagus and assorted cookies for dessert.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude around 2:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $20 per adult and $10 for children 10 & under. Tickets may be purchased at A Cleaner World (540-951-9506) on 103 King Street in Blacksburg.

Fan Day (free) will begin at 11:30 a.m. and fans can line up at the southwest tunnel of the south end zone. Football student-athletes will be available to sign autographs. Lines will close at 12:30 p.m.

All guests for the picnic will enter at the gate in front of the south end zone of Lane Stadium.

All proceeds from the event will benefit athletics scholarships and facilities. Special guests at the Outback Steakhouse Welcome Back Football Picnic will be head coach Justin Fuente, the entire 2016 football team and other guests from the athletics department and university administration. Jon Laaser, the "Voice of the Hokies", and sidekick analyst Mike Burnop will emcee the event.
