The NFL announced today the more than 300 prospects in the 2016 draft who have been invited to compete at the Feb. 23-29 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana and four Hokies have made the cut.

Kendall Fuller, Luther Maddy, Ryan Malleck and Dadi Nicolas all received an invitation to take part in the event, which includes media interviews as well as the on-field workouts – 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill and shuttle run – which will be televised on the NFL Network. Fuller, a Baltimore, Maryland native, missed most of the year to injury, but has declared for the draft despite his junior status. In his three seasons at Tech, Fuller racked up eight interceptions and 27 pass break-ups from his cornerback position. He finished with 119 total tackles (73 solo), had eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 29 games played. After the 2014 season, he was a named a Second-Team All-American by Walter Camp, FWAA, Fox Sports and USA Today and he was the 2013 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Maddy, out of Delray Beach, Florida, set a school record for games played at Tech with 56 and finished his five-year career with the Hokies with 175 total tackles (74 solo). The defensive tackle, who redshirted after an injury during his senior year, added 29.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and recovered two fumbles. Maddy was a two-time All-ACC performer, garnering First Team honors this past season from the coaches and played in the 2016 East-West Shrine Game.

Malleck, a Point Pleasant, New Jersey native, also was at Tech for five seasons, taking a redshirt after his sophomore season. In his career, the tight end caught 62 passes for 658 yards and four touchdowns in 52 games. He started the last 25 games of his career and averaged 13.8 yards per catch this past season.

Nicolas, also out of Delray Beach, Florida, was at Tech for five seasons, but redshirted his freshman season before playing in 49 games. In his career, the defensive end finished with 166 total tackles (87 solo) and added 36 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks and recovered three fumbles. Nicolas was a two-time All-ACC performer, garnering Second Team honors in 2014 season from both the coaches and media played in the 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
