BLACKSBURG – Four Virginia Tech players made the 2015 All-ACC Academic Football Team, as announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford on Wednesday.

The group included defensive back Chuck Clark and Brandon Facyson, along with offensive lineman Augie Conte and Eric Gallo. They were among 56 players from around the league who made the team.

To be eligible for consideration for the team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his undergraduate academic career. Graduate students needed to maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average for both the previous semester and for their graduate school careers.

All 14 ACC schools were represented by at least two selections on the team. The ACC has selected an All-ACC Academic Football Team every year since 1954.

The team was chosen from a pool of 140 eligible ACC football student-athletes who were nominated by their schools.

Clark, who started all 13 games and led the Hokies with 107 tackles, is pursuing a degree in human development. He made the team for the second straight year.

Conte started all 13 games at right guard as a redshirt junior and is pursuing a degree in consumer studies. Likewise, Gallo started all 13 games at center as a sophomore and is pursuing a degree in business.

Facyson started 10 of the 13 games in which he played at cornerback as a redshirt sophomore. He finished with 31 tackles and 10 pass breakups and is pursuing a degree in biology.
