2016 football season ticket timeline announced
$25 Early Bird Loyalty Rebate available on renewals from Feb. 4-18

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Monday the prices and important dates for football season tickets for the 2016 season.

The renewal process for 2015 season ticket holders and Hokie Club members (as of Dec. 31, 2015) begins on Feb. 4. Individuals who renew early during an exclusive two-week window from Feb. 4-18 will receive a $25 per ticket loyalty rebate on their $350 season ticket purchase. This rebate will be issued at the conclusion of the two-week window.

Beginning Feb. 19, all 2015 season ticket holders and Hokie Club members have until March 14 to renew their tickets at the $350 price.

“I’m excited about the direction we’re headed, and I hope our fans are, too,” Virginia Tech Director of Athletics Whit Babcock said. “We need all of them – fans, alums and students – supporting us and our new coaching staff. We recognize their passion and energy, and that’s why we’re offering this loyalty rebate. We hope that Hokie Nation will purchase season tickets and be with us every step of the way this season.”

The 2016 season marks the first for new football head coach Justin Fuente, who was hired to take over the Hokies’ program after Frank Beamer retired at the conclusion of this past season. Behind an explosive offense and opportunistic defense, Fuente and his staff rebuilt the Memphis program, lifting the Tigers to 19 wins and two bowl appearances in the past two seasons.

The Hokies wrapped up their 23rd consecutive winning season by beating Tulsa in the Independence Bowl, which marked the program’s 23rd straight bowl appearance – the longest active streak recognized by the NCAA. Tech returns eight starters on offense and seven on defense from those who started in the bowl game.

The Hokies’ 2016 football schedule includes home games against Liberty and East Carolina, along with home games against the following conference foes – Georgia Tech, Miami, Boston College and in-state rival Virginia.

“If you haven’t purchased your season tickets, you better do so quickly because we’re going to build something special,” Fuente said recently at a local event. “I also thank our fans for contributing to the Hokie Club. We need that support, and we appreciate that.”

All 2015 season ticket holders and Hokie Club members will be mailed a ticket catalog and paper application in early February. Those wishing to take advantage of the loyalty rebate would need to return that application by Feb. 18. Or, starting Feb. 4, fans can renew online at hokietickets.com, or by calling the Athletics Ticket office at either of these two numbers – 1-800 VA TECH4 or 540-231-6731.

The ACC office is anticipated to announce all dates for conference games and remaining non-conference games that haven’t been previously confirmed sometime in the near future.
