
BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente confirmed six mid-year freshman and another junior college transfer addition to the Hokies on Thursday. Combined with junior college transfer quarterback Jérod Evans, whom Fuente announced on Wednesday, a total of eight incoming football student-athletes are anticipated to enroll at Virginia Tech. The spring semester officially begins Jan. 19.
In addition to Evans, the incoming freshmen are Divine Deablo, a wide receiver from Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Samuel Denmark, a wide receiver from Huger, South Caroina; Joshua Jackson, a quarterback from Ann Arbor, Michigan; Eric Kumah, a wide receiver from Manassas, Virginia; Khalil Ladler, a cornerback from Stone Mountain, Georgia; and Jimmie Taylor, a defensive end from Jacksonville, North Carolina; while the transfer is Demetri Moore, an offensive lineman from Birmingham, Alabama.
“We wanted to add depth and talent at a number of positions on our roster,” Fuente said. “We’re pleased these young men have decided to enroll at Virginia Tech. Our staff will continue working to identify and attract the right kind of student-athletes who fit our program. We appreciate the contributions that Coach Beamer and his staff made with many of these families, and we’ll continue working hard as National Signing Day approaches. I’m excited to get to work with our returning players and our incoming signees this spring.”
