Isaiah Ford, Chuck Clark receive weekly ACC honors
Ford named receiver of the week, Clark defensive back of the week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech players Isaiah Ford and Chuck Clark have earned Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week awards announced by the conference office Monday morning.

Ford, a sophomore from Jacksonville, Florida, was named the receiver of the week while Clark, a junior from Suffolk, Virginia, was named the defensive back of the week for their performances in the Hokies’ win over in-state rival Virginia on Saturday, 23-20. It is the first ACC weekly honors for both. The win marked the 12th straight time Tech has beaten UVA and made Tech bowl-eligible for the 23rd straight season, the nation’s longest active streak.

Ford recorded six catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Cavaliers. Ford’s biggest moments came with a 32-yard touchdown catch from Michael Brewer that tied the game 20-20 with 8:40 remaining. He also had two catches for 27 yards on the game-winning drive including a 21-yard reception to get the Hokies to midfield.

Clark led both teams with 12 total tackles in the game also intercepting UVA quarterback Matt Johns to seal the victory with 59 seconds left in the game. Clark’s 12 tackles included six solo stops. It was his 15th straight game with at least five tackles and his fourth game this season with at least 10. He currently leads the team with 100 tackles.
