
BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer was recognized Monday by the school’s Board of Visitors, who issued a resolution in tribute that expressed their affection, admiration, respect and gratitude for his unique and profound impact on hundreds of players and thousands of lives throughout his 29-year tenure at Tech.
Beamer announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2015 season on Nov. 1. He is the current active all-time wins leader in FBS with 277 victories.
Following an off week, Beamer and the Hokies are gearing up for a Thursday night game in Atlanta against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
