Frank Beamer is the winningest active FBS head coach with 273 career victories. Beamer has led the Hokies to 22 consecutive bowl berths, the longest active streak in the nation recognized by the NCAA. Over the past 12 seasons, he has guided Virginia Tech to an ACC-best 106 victories and four conference championships. Dating back to 1995, Virginia Tech owns a 105-23 (.820) record at Lane Stadium. In addition, Beamer has graduated 100 percent of his seniors dating back to 2012 and has seen a total of 93 student-athletes drafted by the NFL during his tenure.
In appreciation for his many years of service and extraordinary contributions to university life, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors recently renamed Spring Road – the street that runs alongside the west stands and press box of Lane Stadium – Beamer Way. Recognizing contributions made both on and off the field by the head football coach and his wife, Cheryl, the official athletics department street address is now 25 Beamer Way in recognition of Frank Beamer’s jersey number when he played football for Tech from 1966-68.
