GREENSBORO, N.C. – Selected by a panel of 163 media members and announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday, Virginia Tech placed four Hokies on the 2015 All-ACC Preseason Football Team, which included three Tech players on defense.

The four Hokies chosen – redshirt senior defensive end Dadi L’homme Nicolas, redshirt senior defensive tackle Luther Maddy, junior cornerback Kendall Fuller and redshirt sophomore tight end Bucky Hodges – tied defending ACC Champion Florida State for the second-most representatives from one school, while Clemson led all schools with five honorees.

Nicolas was an All-ACC choice last season and has been named to three major awards “watch” lists during the preseason. The second teamer in 2014 tallied team-bests 18.5 tackles for loss and 35 quarterback hurries. The Delray Beach, Florida product added 72 total tackles and was second on the team with nine sacks. He’s been named to the 2015 preseason watch lists for the Rotary Lombardi Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Maddy was also an All-ACC choice in 2014 and has been named to three major awards “watch” lists during the preseason. The honorable mention member in 2014, despite playing in just four games, was a third-team All-ACC choice in 2013 after recording 55 tackles, 13.5 for a loss and 6.5 sacks. Also from Delray Beach, Florida, he has been named to the 2015 preseason watch lists for the Wuerffel Trophy, the Outland Trophy and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Fuller tacks this nod next to the four previous “watch” lists selections he’s already picked up this preseason. From Baltimore, Maryland, Fuller was a 2014 first-team All-ACC choice after starting all 13 games as a sophomore, and he had 54 tackles (32 solo), including 4.5 for a loss. He also had two interceptions and two sacks. He’s been named to the Walter Camp Football Player of the Year list, the Jim Thorpe Award list, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy list and the Chuck Bednarik Award list.

Lastly, Hodges was the only Hokie to earn a spot on the preseason list on the offensive side of the ball, but for good reason. The Virginia Beach, Virginia product is coming off a breakout freshman campaign in 2014 that saw him earn third-team All-ACC honors after playing in all 13 games (10 starts) for the Hokies. He had 45 receptions, the most ever for a freshman tight end at Tech, for 526 yards and six touchdowns. He’s been named to the 2015 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List.
