Renewal process begins today for Hokie Club members and 2014 football season ticket holders
Tech athletics department adds perks for those who purchase season tickets

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech athletics department began accepting season ticket renewal applications for the 2015 football season today.

Hokie Club members and 2014 season ticket holders can choose one of three ways to renew their season tickets:

• Those who have a registered email address with the ticket office and received an email this morning can renew by clicking the link in the email and going directly to their online account;

• Calling the athletics ticket office at 1-800-VA TECH4;

• Mailing back the application enclosed in the ticket catalog, which was mailed out this morning.

The deadline for renewing is April 6. Those who renew before March 30 at 5 p.m. will be eligible to receive “Early Bird” perks. These perks are listed in the 2015 Season Ticket Catalog, and to view that, please click here – http://vthoki.es/FB15Tix.

The cost of a season ticket is $350 – the same as last season. There is one less home game this upcoming season compared to last season, but for that price, a Tech fan will get to see the Hokies open the 2015 season against the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes at Lane Stadium on Labor Day. Plus, the home schedule includes four other games against teams that played in bowl games last season (Duke, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and NC State).

“We understand that, on a per-game basis, our fans are paying more, and we want to be transparent about that and to thank them for being willing to consider that as well,” Virginia Tech Director of Athletics Whit Babcock said. “However, the total season ticket cost is the same as last year. We are very sensitive to any discussion of raising ticket prices on season ticket holders who have been so loyal and supportive. We feel like our fans are still getting a very good value considering the quality of our schedule and some of the new amenities we will offer this year, along with the pride and satisfaction associated with being a Virginia Tech season ticket holder.”

In addition to access to new rewards and benefits for the 2015 season, season ticket holders receive the best pricing over those purchasing individual game tickets (if available) and will receive first priority when it comes to away game and bowl game tickets. They also have the option to purchase single-game tickets (if available) prior to the general public.

Longtime season ticket holders also will be in the running for the “Season Ticket Holder of the Game” in which Tech athletics honors some of its longest-standing season ticket holders with a commemorative football and a dinner at the Inn at Virginia Tech. In addition, season ticket holders will be able to take part in certain exclusive events throughout the season.

For the first time, the ticket office will assign a personal season ticket service executive to each customer. Service executives are available to answer any questions from account holders on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

If season tickets are available after the renewal process, they will be made available to the public on or near April 20. For more information on season tickets, please check out the online ticket catalog.

“We’ve got a challenging schedule with a lot of good teams coming to Lane Stadium this season, beginning with our opening ball game,” Tech head coach Frank Beamer said. “We’re looking forward to the challenge, and I know our fans are the best and play a big part in helping us defend our home.”
