Kendall Fuller named second-team All-American

Sophomore garners award from Walter Camp

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech sophomore cornerback Kendall Fuller has been named a second-team All-American by Walter Camp, as released Thursday night. The Baltimore, Maryland, native also earned first-team All-ACC honors this year from both the media and the coaches. He followed up a strong freshman year with 50 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and two sacks, with 14 pass break ups and an interception which he returned for a touchdown at North Carolina.

By making one of the five nationally recognized All-America squads (AP, Walter Camp, Sporting News, FWAA, AFCA), Fuller becomes the ninth Tech cornerback to earn All-America honors. Other Hokie cornerbacks to be recognized were: Jayron Hosley (2010, So.), Victor “Macho” Harris (2008, Sr.), Brandon Flowers (2006, r-So.; 2007, r-Jr.), Jimmy Williams (2005, Sr.), DeAngelo Hall (2003, Jr.), Ronyell Whitaker (2001, r-Sr.), Anthony Midget (1999, Sr.) and Kyle Fuller (2013, Sr.).

Fuller was also named a second-team All-American by USA Today earlier on Thursday.

Fuller is one of nine ACC players recognized as first- or second-team All-Americans by the group.
