The Virginia Tech football squad (4-4, 1-3 ACC) will look to break its two-game losing streak when it hosts Boston College (5-3, 2-2 ACC) Saturday at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field. Mike Hogewood, Riley Skinner and Dwayne Ballen will have the call for the ACC Network and kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.

The Series
• Saturday’s game will mark the 23rd football meeting between Virginia Tech and Boston College. The Hokies hold a 15-7 edge in the series after falling to BC last season in Chestnut Hill, 34-27. Prior to last season’s loss, the Hokies had won five straight in the series. In 2012, Tech won 30-23 in overtime on the road, won 30-14 at home in 2011, pitched a 19-0 shutout on the road in 2010 and won 48-14 at home in 2009.
• Virginia Tech is 6-3 at home against the Eagles ,winning its last two games at Lane Stadium, coming in 2011 and 2009.
• In 2008, the two teams split a pair of games. Tech lost at Chestnut Hill, 28-23, before bouncing back for a convincing 30-12 win over the Eagles in the ACC Championship Game. In 2007, the same thing happened as Tech lost a 14-10 heartbreaker to the second-ranked Eagles at home but rebounded to beat the Eagles 30-16 in Jacksonville to claim the ACC title.
• Tech and BC met for the first time on the gridiron in 1993 with the Eagles taking a 48-34 home win. The following season, the Hokies returned to BC and posted a 12-7 victory. Boston College returned the favor with a 20-14 win at Tech to open the 1995 season.
• Since joining Virginia Tech in the ACC in 2005, the Hokies lead the regular-season series 5-4, but also lead the overall series in that span 7-4 thanks to the two wins in the championship games.

Strong In The ACC and In November
• Virginia Tech is an impressive 63-20 in ACC games since joining the league in 2004 … The Hokies are 22-12 against ACC Atlantic Division teams and 31-11 in ACC home games … Tech is also 12-7 in ACC home games against Atlantic Division opponents … The Hokies have posted a 31-6 record in the month of November (29-6 in ACC games) since 2004.

Hall of Fame Weekend
• Six former student-athletes representing five different sports make up the newest class selected for induction to the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame this Friday. They will be introduced to fans at halftime of the football game. They are:
Brendon de Jonge, golf
Ashlee Dobbe, softball
Jake Grove, football
Ieva Kublina, women’s basketball
Lee Suggs, football
Dawn Will Cliffe, lacrosse
