Virginia Tech (6-2, 3-1 ACC) will look to get back to its winning ways when it travels to Chestnut Hill for a key ACC battle with Boston College (3-4, 1-3 ACC) Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:06 p.m. Bob Wischusen, Rod Gilmore and Quint Kessenich will have the call for ABC. The game will be a regional broadcast on the network with a reverse mirror on ESPN2, meaning fans will be able to get the game on one of the two channels in their viewing area.

The Series
• Saturday’s game will mark the 22nd football meeting between Virginia Tech and Boston College. The Hokies hold a 15-6 edge in the series after rallying to beat BC in overtime last season in Chestnut Hill, 30-23, their fifth-straight win in the series. In 2011, the Hokies beat the Eagles 30-14 at home.
• Virginia Tech is 7-3 at Alumni Stadium, winning its last two games there (last year and in 2010, a 19-0 victory).
• Tech beat BC 48-14 at home in 2009. In 2008, the two teams split a pair of games. Tech lost at Chestnut Hill, 28-23, before bouncing back for a convincing 30-12 win over the Eagles in the ACC Championship Game.
• In 2007, the same thing happened as Tech lost a 14-10 heartbreaker to the second-ranked Eagles at home but rebounded to beat the Eagles 30-16 in Jacksonville to claim the ACC title.
• Tech and BC met for the first time on the gridiron in 1993 with the Eagles taking a 48-34 home win. The following season, the Hokies returned to BC and posted a 12-7 victory. Boston College returned the favor with a 20-14 win at Tech to open the 1995 season.
• Since joining Virginia Tech in the ACC in 2005, the Hokies lead the regular-season series 5-3, but also lead the overall series in that span 7-3 thanks to the two wins in the championship games.
