Marching Virginians, Tech’s Spirit Program and local hospital need votes as they raise awareness for breast cancer

   The Marching Virginians, Tech’s Spirit Program and the staff from LewisGale Hospital Montgomery teamed up to produce and submit a video for entry into the Pink Glove Dance, a national contest sponsored by Medline that raises awareness of breast cancer. The rules of the contest called for all the participants to wear pink gloves. Fans can go to this web site to watch the video and to vote for the group’s entry.

More than 120 medical facilities from around the nation have entered the contest. The winning group receives $10,000 donated to that group’s charity, with second place receiving $5,000 and third place receiving $2,000. The Marching Virginians, the Tech Spirit Program and the staff at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery chose the Susan G. Komen for the Cure as their charity.

The voting ends Oct. 21. The winner will be announced around the date of Oct. 28.
