The Virginia Tech Sports Medicine Department, along with VCOM, is once again hosting the annual Eddie Ferrell Memorial Clinic this weekend, April 29-30. This year’s full course includes talks on current issues and injuries effecting the athletic population.

In conjunction with this full course, the Friday night's session will include a FREE lecture courtesy of LewisGale Health Systems. The Concussion Lecture Night will contain lectures designed for both the medical and non-medical persons who are involved in athletics. The lecture will be taught by Virginia Tech team physicians and will discuss the facts behind head injuries and shed light into the recent news media accounts.

Virginia Tech physicians and athletic trainers will also be on hand to provide information and to answer questions. The lectures will focus on symptoms, diagnosis, return to play criteria, and when to refer an athlete for further care. This is an interactive discussion to help bridge the gap between the medical personnel and those involved with athletes of any age.
