BLACKSBURG, Va. – Down 2-1 in the series and trailing 1-0 in the final frame, Team Autism Awareness scored a tying run in the top of the seventh and the winning run in the eighth to secure a 2-1 victory over Team Stop Bullying and even the Virginia Tech baseball Fall World Series at two games apiece.

The fifth and deciding game of the series will be played on Sunday morning at English Field with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.

In the top of the seventh, TAA loaded the bases with one out and junior Kyle Wernicki plated the tying run with a sacrifice fly to center.

In the eighth, with runners on first and second with two outs, freshman Justin Sebo drove home Brendon Hayden for the go-ahead run.

Senior Brad Markey, who was in his second inning of relief worked a perfect bottom of the eighth to earn the win and even the series. He struck out two batters and retired all six batters he faced.

Markey relieved freshman Mack Krupp, who struck out one and retired six of the seven batters he faced – one batter reached on an error. Sophomore Phil Sciretta started the game for TAA and threw four frames, allowed four hits and one run while striking out two.

The loss ruined a suburb outing by sophomore starter Matt Tully for TSB. He went five innings, allowed just two hits and two walks, while striking out six. TSB’s bullpen tossed three full frames and allowed just one hit, but four walks and an unearned run contributed to the loss.

TSB scored its run in the fourth on an RBI single by freshman Ricky Surum.

**Baseball fans, don’t forget that Sunday’s game is not the last Hokies’ baseball game of the year, as the team will again host its annual ALS Awareness Halloween game this upcoming Monday (Oct. 28) at English Field with first pitch slated for 5:30 p.m.
