Carter reaches No. 1 at 133 pounds
Sophomore becomes first Hokie to reach mark since 2002

BLACKSBURG - Devin Carter is the new No. 1-ranked wrestler in the country at 133 pounds according to InterMat rankings, as released Tuesday morning. After Nos. 1 and 2 fell this past weekend, the sophomore from Christiansburg, Va., moved up to the top spot. He is also ranked first in the country in the Wrestling Report rankings as well.

Carter (21-1) becomes the first Hokie to be ranked No. 1 in the country since 2002 when Scott Justus topped to polls at 184 pounds.

Also ranked this week for the Hokies are Pete Yates (seventh at 165 pounds) and Zach Neibert (11th at 141 pounds).

Tech will be back in action this weekend, taking on Iowa State in Ames on Friday and NC State in Raleigh on Sunday.
