WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Tech got things off to a good start on the first day of the Hilton Garden Innvitational on Friday evening.
Katarina Smiljanec won the women’s 800-meter race. Smiljanec crossed the line at 2:10.01 while teammate Shalonda Mitchell finished in fourth place with a time of 2:14.75.
In the men’s 800, Kevin DeWillie finished in eighth place with a time of 1:54.50 while teammate Griffin Carmichael finished in ninth place with a time of 1:54.78.
Daniel Jaskowak took second place in the men’s 3000-meter race with a time of 8:15.02. Andrew Gaiser finished just behind Jaskowak in fourth place with a time of 8:16.71.
Tech is back in action to conclude the Hilton Garden Innvitational tomorrow afternoon.
