GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Virginia Tech men’s swimming team completed the first day of the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hokies, as well as all ACC teams, only competed in two relays on the day. The 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay were the two events.
“We had some nice swims within our relays tonight. Our men are ready to get the individual events started in the morning,” head coach Ned Skinner said.
The 200 medley relay finished seventh to earn 46 team points. The relay finished in a time of 1:26.37 and consisted of Zach Switzer, Brandon Fiala, Drake Becksted and Ian Ho.
The 800 free relay finished sixth with a time of 6:25.09. The relay earned 48 team points and consisted of Lucas Bureau, Michal Szuba, Adam Stacklin and Norbert Szabo.
The Hokies will be back in the pool at 10 a.m. tomorrow to compete in the prelims and finals of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free as well as the 200 free relay. The finals of those events will take place at 6 p.m. and be broadcast live on ESPN3.
