KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The H20kies completed the Tennessee Fall Invitational on Sunday hosted by the University of Tennessee.

The women’s team, who spent the first two days in third place, put in a great performance Sunday to finish in a tie for second place with the University of Missouri with a total score of 946.5. The No. 22 men finished in third place with 849.5 points.

“The women rallied around the cause to get that tie for second and we are so proud of their result. I know they really embraced the challenge and it was rewarding to see their desire to compete. The men gave themselves a chance versus Tennessee and although they came up a little short, we are proud of their weekend and know we will build upon all the things that come out of an event like this,” head coach Ned Skinner said.

Klaudia Nazieblo won the A final of the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.30. B final of the 100 free with a time of 50.46. Mackenzie Stewart also won the B final of the 200 breast with a finals time of 2:14.72. Virginia Tech’s women’s A relay finished third in the 400 free A finals.

Ashlynn Peters finished third in the women's platform event with a score of 219.35. Logan Stevens and Mauro Castro-Silva finished second and third in the men’s platform, scoring 344.70 and 336.95, respectively.

Michal Szuba finished third in the 1650 free with a finals time of 15:16.68. Brandon Fiala won the B Final swimming a 1:57.49 in the 200 breast.

The Hokies wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule and will return to the pool on Jan. 3 as they face Buffalo in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
