INTERNSHIPS
- NCAA Internship Program-
Deadline: Early December
The NCAA offers one-year internships at its national office in Indianapolis, Indiana, providing on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates from a four-year NCAA member institution who express an interest in pursuing a career in the administration of intercollegiate athletics. These are paid, 12-month positions. The areas of the NCAA that offer intern positions are administrative services; branding and communications: brand strategies and events, public and media relations, publishing/new media; championships; corporate and broadcast alliances; Division I men's and women's basketball; diversity and inclusion; education services; enforcement services; governance; membership services/student-athlete reinstatement, and the NCAA Eligibility Center. The NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar’s main objective is to provide an educational experience, which facilitates dialogue and creates awareness regarding social and legislative issues confronting intercollegiate athletics and to advance the individual’s personal and professional development within athletics administration. The NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar is open to all current interns, graduate assistant, students of Division I, II and III member institutions and conference offices, or anyone interested in working in collegiate athletics. All participants must be at least 21 years of age. - Nike's Adrenaline Internship Program

This highly competitive internship programs provide candidates with the opportunity to gain the best hands-on experience in virtually every area within Nike. Nike offers real world opportunities ranging from product design, product development, finance, sports marketing, and logistics to facility management and human resources.
REQUIREMENTS:- Enrolled full-time
- Entering your Junior or Senior year in college, or a graduate school student
- Overall GPA of at least 3.3
- Majoring in one of the following fields: business, engineering, computer science, polymer science, design, apparel or liberal arts
- PGA TOUR DIVERSITY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Deadline: End of May
The PGA TOUR recognizes the need to continually identify talented individuals to work at the PGA TOUR and other organizations within the golf industry. The objective is to place students in challenging in internship opportunities to prepare them for a position within the PGA TOUR or the golf industry. Note: The TOUR's Diversity Internship Program is open to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, color, gender, region, age, national origin, or disability. The ability to play golf or knowledge of the game is not required for most positions.
WHAT DO THEY LOOK FOR:- Well-rounded students with successful work and school records
- Diverse work and volunteer experience
- All undergraduate and graduate majors are considered, but mainly Business Administration, Communications/Journalism/TV Productions, Sports Management, Information Systems, Legal and Hospitality
- Students must have completed their Sophomore year prior to starting internship
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Be currently attending an accredited College or University and in good standing
- Eligible to work in the United States. International students must obtain all required visas prior to beginning an internship
- INROADS Summer Scholarship Program
Deadline: Late March
INROADS is the nation’s largest non-profit source of salaried internships for excelling Black, Hispanic/Latino and Native American Indian college students. Students participate in these internships for 2-4 summers during college and earn $10-$25/hr. Most of them receive offers for full-time positions, upon graduation.
REQUIREMENTS:- Students must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Have two or more summers remaining prior to graduation
- Maintain a B or better grade point average
- Intend to pursue a career in Business, Engineering, Retail Management, Technology, Health, Marketing or Sales
NCAA SCHOLARSHIPS
- NCAA Division 1 Degree Completion Award Program -

The NCAA established this program to student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility for institutional financial aid (in five years). Applicants must have completed eligibility for athletics-related aid at a division 1 member institution before applying and must be within 30 semester hours of their degree requirements. Student-athletes receiving the award will receive an amount equivalent to tuition and fees, and they will also receive a book allowance based on the number of hours in which they are enrolled. The program is administered by the NCAA Degree Completion Scholarships consultants. - NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program -

The NCAA awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The one-time grants of 7,500 each are awarded for fall sports, winter sports and spring sports. Each sports season (fall, winter, spring), there are 29 scholarships available for men and 29 scholarships for women. The scholarships are one-time, non-renewable grants. - The Freedom Forum-NCAA Sports-Journalism Scholarship Program

The Freedom Forum, through a grant to the NCAA, Supports eight $ 3,000 scholarships to college juniors who have career goals in sports journalism and major in journalism or have experience in campus sports journalism. The program assists deserving full-time students in their final year of study and is designed to foster freedoms of speech and press while promoting quality sports journalism education at the collegiate level. Applications for these scholarships are available in late August from the institution's NCAA faculty athletics representative, journalism department or school newspaper office. - Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Scholarship for Careers in Athletics

The Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics programs were developed by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics and the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee. The NCAA awards 13 scholarships to ethnic minorities and 13 scholarships to female college graduates who will be entering their initial year of postgraduate studies. The applicant must be seeking admission or have been accepted into a sport administration or other program that will help the applicant obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics, such as athletics administrator, coach, athletic trainer or other career that provides a direct service to intercollegiate athletics. All application materials must be received by, not postmarked, by early December. The scholarship will be for use during the following academic year. - Walters Byers Postgraduate Scholarship Program
Deadline: Late January
Under this program, one male and one female student athlete are annually awarded a postgraduate scholarship in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in postgraduate study. It is intended that an individual named a Byers Scholar will be recognized as one who has combined the best elements of mind and body to achieve national distinction for his or her achievements, and promises to be a future leader in his or her chosen field of career service. The stipend for each Byers Scholarship is $21,500 for an academic year. The scholarship amount will be reviewed every two years so that the purchasing power of the award will remain reasonably close to the award as initially conceived in 1988. If the graduate school where the Byers Scholar is enrolled provides evidence of satisfactory performance and progress, the grant may be renewed for a second year. Therefore, in any single year, $86,000 worth of scholarships are awarded ($43,000 to the current year's recipients and $43,000 to the previous year's awardees for their second year of graduate school).

First preference is given to students from Greenbrier County and Monroe County West Virginia. Second preference is given to students from other areas in West Virginia and Virginia. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduates on the basis of scholastic achievement, good character, and financial need. Preference is given to graduates of the Brentsville District High School in Nokesville, Virginia and to graduates of other secondary schools located in Prince William County, Virginia. Scholarships are awarded each year to incoming freshmen. Recipients must be Virginia residents with SAT scores of at least 1000 and a GPA of at least 3.0. They must also be in the upper 25% of their high school class, from a rural background, and planning to work in the agricultural industry after graduation.
