Virginia Tech external team honored

ORLANDO – Members of the Virginia Tech athletics external team were honored with national awards, as presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).

Through CoSIDA, the Hokies earned best in nation honors for three submissions including the 2016-17 Men’s Basketball Game Day Program cover, the online magazine, Inside Hokie Sports and an infographic feature on Athletics. Tech also was honored with the top-two spots in the video feature category for “Sounds of Gameday” and “Name that Tune - Justin Bibbs vs. Ahmed Hill.”

Tech’s marketing team earned the silver medal in the Fan Giveaway Promotion category for the replica jerseys given away to men’s and women’s basketball early bird season ticket renewals. The Hokies also earned Honorable Mention honors for NACMA Marketing Team of the Year for the second consecutive year, recognizing Tech’s success in revenue generating, branding and fan experience.
