Career Highlights: Became Tech’s seventh highest MLB draft selection … Is Tech’s third player ever named All-ACC First Team and also became the sixth Hokie ever named ACC Player of the Week … Had seven career game-winning RBIs and six career game-winning runs scored … Includes scoring game-winning run in walk-off win over No. 6 Miami on April 14, 2012 and scoring the go-ahead run in the 10th frame in a win at Miami on March 24, 2013 … Had three career multi-home run games, including two in ACC Baseball Championship game versus No. 5 Virginia on May 22, 2013, that included Tech’s first grand slam in more than two years … The grand slam was the 21st in the ACC tournament and first since 2010 … Finished 2012 tied for fifth in Tech’s history for doubles in a single season … Tied an ACC and a Tech school record with four doubles against Bradley on February 18, 2012.

2013: Started all 60 games played – 43 at third and 17 at shortstop … Was second on the team with 25 multi-hit games, including seven games with three hits, and 14 multi-RBI games and was tied for third with 13 multi-run scoring games … Tied for the team lead with a 14-game hitting streak and a 23-game reached base streak … Batted .321 (third on the team) with 77 hits (third), including 13 doubles (fourth), one triple and eight home runs (fourth) for 116 total bases (fourth) and a .483 slugging percentage (fourth) … Scored 49 runs (third) and knocked in 50 (tied for third) … Drew 21 walks (third), was hit by 14 pitches (first) and had a .404 on-base percentage (second) … Was 5-for-9 on stolen base attempts … In the NCAA, was 132nd in runs, 127th in hits, 116th in home runs, 102nd in RBIs and 132nd in total bases … In the ACC, was 21st in batting average.

2012: Made 53 starts, all at third base … Posted 16 multi-hit games (third on the team), including four games with three hits, one game with four and one game with five … Was second on the team with 10 multi-RBI games and had seven multi-run games … During the season, had a 12-game hitting streak and a 22-game reached base streak (both second) … Batted .325 (second) with 69 hits (first), including 22 doubles (first), one triple and seven home runs (tied for second) for 114 total bases (first) and a .538 slugging percentage (second) … Scored 36 runs (third) and knocked in 37 (second) … Drew 14 walks, was hit by seven pitches and had a .380 on-base percentage (third) … Was 6-for-11 in stolen base attempts … At the end of the year, in the NCAA, was 12th in doubles per game (0.42), 19th in doubles and 149th in slugging percentage … In the ACC, was 13th in batting average, fifth in doubles and 10th in slugging.

2011: Made 27 starts – 24 in right and one each in left, at third and as designated hitter – and played in 37 games total … Posted seven multi-hit games, including two games with three hits and one with four … Also had six multi-run games and four multi-RBI games … Had an eight-game hitting streak … Batted .317 with 33 hits, including three doubles, three triples (second on the team) and three home runs for 53 total bases and a .510 slugging percentage … Scored 21 runs and drove in 14 … Drew seven walks, posted a .368 on-base percentage and was 4-for-5 on stolen base attempts …Finished tied for fourth in the ACC in triples, which was also tied for 111th in the country.

High School: Played shortstop for Coach Kenny Bennett at Poquoson High, earning varsity letters all four seasons … Named second team all-state during junior and senior years, while helping the Bulls to the 2009 and 2010 state championship both seasons … Batted .495 with nine home runs and 51 RBIs as a senior, while posting more than 100 hits, 100 RBIs and 100 runs scored over high school career … Was also a 2010 Rawlings/Perfect Game third team preseason All-American … Also played basketball for Coach Todd Bowden … Earned three varsity letters (did not play senior season) and was named second team all-region as a junior in 2009 … As a sophomore and junior, made first team all-district and was the team MVP … Received the 2010 Joe Thomas Award, which honors the top graduating student-athlete at the school.
