Two Hokies head west for training camps with Team USA

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech's Mandy McGlynn continues to train with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team and in her latest stop, in Carson, California, she had a chance to meet up with incoming Hokies freshman Emily Gray, who was also in California with the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team.

Gray, who will join the Tech women's soccer program for the 2018 season, was in Chula Vista, Calif., for a concurrent training camp with the Under-19 Women’s National Team that ran from May 5-12 (click here for more on the camp). McGlynn, who is vying for one of the 21 roster spots on the USA’s 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Team, has been in a 10-day training camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif., that will end on May 17.

The U-20s will scrimmage twice against the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team, which will also be conducting a camp at the NTC. One match took place on Monday, May 14 and the other will be held tomorrow (Thursday, May 17) at 7 p.m. For more on the camp, the team and the U-20 World Cup, CLICK HERE.
