Adair announces 2018 spring schedule

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech women’s soccer head coach Charles “Chugger” Adair announced today the Hokies’ 2018 spring slate, which begins this Sunday with a couple of home games against area teams.

The five-day schedule features a total of nine games with two dates being contested at home including one at Thompson Field on the Virginia Tech campus. The schedule kicks off this Sunday, March 18 against Roanoke, starting at noon, and versus Radford at 3 p.m. and will be played on the band field at Virginia Tech. Those two teams (Radford and Roanoke) will face each other at 1:30 p.m.

“We are excited to have this game schedule set for the spring,” Adair said. “These matches will provide our team with an ability to grow and develop as we prepare for the fall competition season.

“We have a balanced schedule which will test our team as well as allow us to work on our progress working on team-defending, possession-style soccer and our ability to push growth from each individual player.”

Other opponents for the Hokies this spring include NC State (March 24) at the Wake Forest practice field in Winston-Salem, N.C; UNC-Wilmington and Wake Forest (April 7) at the Southern Soccer Scene, also in Winston-Salem; Loyola (MD) and George Washington (April 14) on the home field of George Washington and their final games versus Liberty and Marshall (April 22) back at home in Thompson Field.
