KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Virginia Tech women’s soccer player Murielle Tiernan has been named to the third team of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2015 NSCAA All-America Teams for NCAA Division I.
Tiernan, a junior from Ashburn, Virginia, led the Hokies in scoring and points this season. She was tied for second in the ACC in goals and fourth in points in the conference this season. She had a league-high eight game-winning goals, good for fourth nationally. She was 20th nationally in goals per game. Following the regular season, Tiernan, the school’s all-time leading points and goal scorer, was named first team All-ACC by the league’s coaches.
The Hokies advanced to the second round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament this fall, with a 15-4-2 overall record, 6-3-1 in ACC play.
