BLACKSBURG - The fifth-ranked Virginia Tech women’s soccer team hosts UNC Wilmington for their second game in The Virginia Tech Tournament Sunday afternoon at Thompson Field at 2 p.m. Wake Forest and No. 13 Georgetown will play before the Hokies at 11:30 a.m.
On Friday, Tech scored six goals in a 6-1 thrashing of No. 13 Georgetown. So far this season, the Hokies are undefeated with five wins, scoring three or more goals in every game.
UNC Wilmington played Wake Forest on Friday evening and scored a last-second goal in overtime to improve their record to 3-2. Junior Maddie McCormick scored the game-winner for the Seahawks. Katrina Guillou leads the team in scoring this year with three goals.
The first 100 Hokie Kids Club members in attendance to the game will receive a Virginia Tech piggy bank. All kids in attendance will receive free ice cream prior to the game while supplies last. A youth skills clinic will be held following the match with the team.
Following Sunday’s game, the Hokies will travel to Longwood on Tuesday to play at 7 p.m.
