KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Jazmine Reeves of the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team has earned another first for the program, as the senior was named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America First Team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Friday morning.

Reeves, who was named a 2013 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist earlier this week, is the first Hokie ever named as an All-American by the NSCAA. The Dover, Del. native has racked up 11 goals this season, tied for the team high, to go with five assists from the forward position.

“This is such a tremendous achievement for Jazmine,” Head Coach Chugger Adair said. “It just shows the amount of commitment and work she’s put in this year to make her senior season so special. On behalf of the whole team and staff here, we’re extremely proud of her and her achievement.”

In a season of firsts for the senior, Reeves has been the program’s first-ever All-American, first-ever Hermann Trophy semifinalist and first-ever selection to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team.

The student-athletes named to the three All-American teams will be recognized Saturday, Jan. 18 at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in conjunction with the 2014 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia.

The Hokies face No. 3 Florida State on Friday evening in the 2013 NCAA College Cup. Tech, who is in the College Cup for the first time in program history, takes on the Seminoles at 5 p.m. for a spot in Sunday’s national championship match.
