THURSDAY
• Virginia Tech heads down to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face the No. 18 North Carolina Tar Heels
• The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3
• This marks the first time in program history the Hokies will be aired on an ESPN network during the regular season

TAR HEEL SERIES
• This marks the 11th meeting between the two teams and North Carolina leads 8-2
• The series dates back to 2004 when the Tar Heels won 6-1
• Virginia Tech won the last meeting, 1-0, a year ago when North Carolina was ranked No. 8

MAYROSE EARNS HARDEE’S STAR OF THE WEEK HONOR
• Redshirt junior Shannon Mayrose was named Virginia Tech’s Hardee’s Star of the Week Monday, Sept. 17
• The forward scored the first two goals to help lift the Hokies past NC State, 3-0
• She also led both teams with five shots and three on frame as Virginia Tech improved to 9-0-0 on the season

LEADING THE NATION
• The Hokies lead the nation in three team categories: shutout percentage, goals-against average and save percentage
• In nine games, Virginia Tech has only allowed two goals and have a GAA of 0.217
(0.026 away from second-place UCLA)
• The Hokies also have save percentage of 0.889 with eight shutouts and a 0.931 save percentage
• Virginia Tech is tied with No. 1 Florida State in won-lost-tied percentage, as both teams are undefeated

MAKING HISTORY
• The 2-0 win over Massachusetts goes down in the Virginia Tech Women’s Soccer Record Book
• The win marked Tech’s eighth consecutive win which is the most in women’s soccer history
