BLACKSBURG, Va. – Junior Dayle Colpitts of the No. 11 Virginia Tech women’s soccer team was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week, as announced by the website Monday morning.
Colpitts notched two shutouts this past weekend against Illinois and Massachusetts to help the Hokies remain undefeated and become the only team on TopDrawerSoccer.com’s top 25 to have eight wins so far this season. The Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada native charted six saves and faced 11 shots throughout the weekend.
The TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week is chosen after reviewing every match report for Division I soccer. Joining Colpitts with this honor is ACC opponents Amber Brooks, Summer Green of North Carolina and Duke’s Gilda Doria and Laura Weinberg, along with Shayla Bergeron (Albany), Chelsea Leiva (Florida International), Jenna Richardson (Oregon State), Jessica Ringwood (BYU), Rachel Lenz (Texas A&M) and Alina Garciamendez (Stanford).
Tech will be back in action this weekend as it begins conference play, hosting NC State Sunday at 1 p.m.
