GREENSBORO, N.C. – 27 Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer matches are set for national or regional telecast during the 2012 season, including when Virginia Tech travels to North Carolina, Florida State and Clemson, announced Friday by the conference office.
“We are very excited to be able to showcase our three games on television,” commented second-year head coach Chugger Adair. “North Carolina, Florida State and Clemson are three strong opponents and it’s a great opportunity for us to show how Virginia Tech competes.”
When the Hokies travel to North Carolina on Sept. 20, the 7 p.m. match will be aired on ESPN3 along with the match against Clemson on Oct. 18. Tech’s matchup against Florida State will air on RSN.
In addition to Tech’s three contests, the ACC Tournament and 21 regular-season games will be televised.
The Virginia Tech women’s soccer program is coming off of a 14-8-1 2011 showing, including the fourth consecutive NCAA appearance. The Hokies upset BIG EAST Champion and then-No. 9 West Virginia and then-No. 17 Texas A&M to make it all the way to the Sweet 16.
Tech kicks off the 2012 season against UNC Wilmington as hosts the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
