BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s soccer program opened its spring slate this past weekend as it traveled to East Carolina Saturday evening. The Hokies defeated the Pirates, 3-1, at the East Carolina Soccer Stadium in Greenville, N.C.
Katie Yensen, Kelly Conheeney and Jazmine Reeves all found the back of the net for the Hokies to contribute to the Tech win.
“This first game was a much needed test for us to see where we are as a team and to have the opportunity to train against outside competition,” commented head coach Chugger Adair. “The girls played well from top to bottom with many players splitting minutes and everyone getting a chance to develop.”
Tech will travel to Richmond, Va. for its next spring contest on March 17 to face ACC foes Virginia and NC State. Tech will face the Cavaliers at 11 a.m., before meeting the Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m.
