Reeves honored by the TopDrawerSoccer.com
Named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week

BLACKSBURG, Va.Sophomore Jazmine Reeves of the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week, as announced by TopDrawerSoccer.com Monday afternoon.

“Jazmine had a great weekend for us,” commented head coach Chugger Adair. “She had a goal in the two matches this weekend, including the game-winner against NC State and she has been consistently dangerous for us up top. She has been a big threat every time she gets the ball and this is a great honor for her.”

Reeves played a huge role in the Hokies pair of conference victories this past weekend, as they posted a 3-0 victory over the Clemson Tigers before a 1-0 win over NC State. She led the squad with two goals, four points and five shots over the weekend, including the game-winning goal against NC State.

The TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week is chosen after reviewing every match report for Division I soccer. Joining Reeves with this honor is ACC opponent Morgan Brian of Virginia, along with Dani Henry (South Carolina), Ellen Fahey (South Carolina), Frances Silva (West Virginia), Maegan Kelly (Marquette), Tiya Gallegos (Boston University), Dana Larsen (Baylor), Taylor Schram (Penn State), Maya Hayes (Penn State) and goalkeeper Roxanne Barker (Pepperdine).

In addition to Reeves’ honor, Kelly Conheeney was named Virginia Tech’s Hardee’s Star of the Week for notching career-high three assists against Clemson. The three assists allowed Conheeney to take over sole possession in career points with 67 in Tech’s all-time record books as a junior.

“This is a tremendous honor for Kelly. It is well deserved with the three assists against Clemson and she continues to play well and has been a very dominant player for us.”

Tech will be back in action as it travels to Charlottesville to take on in-state rival Virginia Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the FOX Soccer Channel.
