The Virginia Tech women’s soccer team was recently named the No. 17 team in the country in the Soccer America Preseason Poll. The Hokies also hold the No. 15 spot in the nation according to the NSCAA Preseason Poll, which was released a week ago.  Seven other ACC teams were also ranked in Soccer America’s top 25.

 

Tech finished the 2009 season ranking No. 12 in the nation according to the NSCAA poll, after its record-setting season. This is the first time that the Hokies have ever received national preseason votes. Tech was slated to finish eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season after finishing fourth in the league last year.
