Haught to wrestle at the NWCA All-Star Classic

BLACKSBURG - Redshirt senior Jared Haught will be represent the Virginia Tech wrestling program at the annual NWCA All-Star Classic on Sunday, Nov. 5, in Jadwin Gym on the campus of Princeton University.

Haught, who enters the season ranked second at 197 pounds by FloWrestling, becomes just the seventh Hokie wrestler to compete at the All-Star Classic. Haught’s opponent will be announced by the NWCA in the coming weeks.

Last season, Haught earned his second All-American honors at the 2017 NCAA Championships with a fourth place finish. Haught went 4-2 in the tournament where he made an appearance in the semifinals. The Parkersburg, West Virginia native also won his first ACC championship at 197 pounds last season. The 2017 ACC Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the year, Haught finished with an overall record of 28-4 and went 18-1 in duals

The Hokies open the 2017-18 season vs. Stanford at home on Nov. 4.
