BLACKSBURG - The seventh annual Hokie Open, which features some of the top talent in the region in an early season tournament, will begin registration on Friday, Oct. 10 at noon and run through 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 20. The event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 9 inside Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech, which is a change in location from the first six years.

For the first time, there will be two tournaments - an “open” tournament and a “freshman/sophomore” tournament. The tournament will be run on 12-15 mats. The Open will be limited to the first 250 wrestlers and there is currently no limit set for the Freshman/Sophomore division, which is geared for first- and second-year wrestlers (and even upperclassmen) who might not be ready for the Open Division. The goal of this division is to provide those individuals more opportunity to advance further in an early season college level tournament.
