Virginia Tech's Jesse Dong named ACC Wrestler of the Week
Senior breaks school dual wins record, leads Hokies to Virginia Duals title
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech 157-pound senior Jesse Dong has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week after setting a school record for dual meet victories and leading the Hokies to their first Virginia Duals championship.

Dong broke the school record and joined the 100-victory club with a pin of Binghamton’s Jack McKeever, a 3-0 win over Kent State’s T.J. Keklak, a 7-0 shutout of Michael DePalma of 16th-ranked Edinboro and a 9-5 decision over Blaise Butler of 19th-ranked Virginia.

The Westerville, Ohio, wrestler’s efforts helped the 10th-ranked and second-seeded Hokies post four dual victories in the tournament and become the first Virginia school in the 33-year history of the Virginia Duals to win the National College Division of the event. Dong was also named the Virginia Tech Hardee's Star Of The Week for the second week in a row.
