GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia Tech 125-pound redshirt senior Jarrod Garnett has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.

Garnett went 5-0 as the No. 2 seed at the Midlands Championships, earning his first title at the prestigious event. The Newark, Del., native defeated No. 3 Cory Clark of Iowa by a 10-6 score in the semifinal and then beat top-seeded and No. 5 Jesse Delgado of Illinois 5-1 in sudden victory to help the Hokies finish second at the event. For his efforts, Garnett was named TheMat.com’s Athlete of the Week.

On Sunday, Garnett pinned Duke’s Peter Terrezza as the Hokies rolled to a 41-0 ACC win. The two-time ACC champion now has 108 career wins, moving him into sixth place all-time at Virginia Tech in career victories.
